Olive the Other Reindeer – 9.4% ABV

Upon learning the sad and lonely story of Santa’s underappreciated steed Olive the Other Reindeer, the Bear Republic team called Barrel Whisperer Preston Weesner to see if they could find any hidden treasures hidden amongst their cooperage.  Lo and behold the quest turned up the components to blend some black gold of the dark sour beer variety.  These components include barrel aged stout, foeder aged strong stock ale, peach & apricot kissed spontaneously fermented wheat beer and fig enhanced Big Bear.  This is Olive the Other Reindeer’s winter to shine.

Santa’s Lost Wallet – 10.8% ABV
Beginning our blend with a Belgian-style brown ale aged in Charbay brandy barrels, sweet notes of raisins, candi sugar, and dark malts are blended for balance with our Big Bear Black Stout and molasses-heavy Pirate Stout. Blended for the 2013 Holiday Ale Festival.

Cuvee du Santa – 8.5% ABV
This dark, sweet and tart ale was formulated with selected barrels from our sour ale program, a bit of bourbon barrel-aged Heritage, and brought to life with figs, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, and cinnamon. Blended for exclusive release at our pub and Portland’s Holiday Ale Festival in 2015.

Prepare to be Boarded – 8.1% ABV
This barrel-aged stout is rich with the flavors of molasses and spices of the East Indies and the Caribbean – the same spices that enriched the coffers of empires (and pirates) during the 17th and 18th centuries. Including allspice, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and mace, this true “pirate stout” is as black as coal and will put you in the right holiday spirit! Avast, matey and a ho ho ho! Blended for the 2012 Holiday Ale Festival.

Ebeweesener Scrooge – 6.5% ABV

This barrel-aged sour ale is a blend of many barrels from the Bear Republic cellar, including smoked Red Rocket and a spike of Tartare. Blended in 2010, this vintage pick was the unanimous favorite of our barrel blenders at this year’s Holiday Ale Festival.

Old St. Chango – 7.2% ABV

Rich malts are complemented by cocoa nibs and Mexican chocolate, while the German wheat beer yeast strain lends banana-rama goodness. Old St. Chango, patron saint of our monkey friends, requested this beer himself. Relax in your favorite recliner and enjoy this banana split in a glass.

Goodnight Sweet Prince – 10.0% ABV

This beer’s name was taken from a quote in Shakespeare’s Hamlet that reads, “Now cracks a noble heart. Goodnight sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”

Barrel 103 – 9.3% ABV

This sour ale was aged for two years in a custom American oak barrel that featured a light toast and toasted heads. The aroma is bright and sharp with a hint of apple. On the palate, notes of wood and fund are dominant.

Spiced Sacre Bleu! – 9.3% ABV

Inspired by the rustic farmhouse ales of Belgium and France, Sacre Bleu! is brewed with modern hops and a wide array of ingredients including; buckwheat, spelt, rice and peas. This version is spiced and aged in an oak foeder for roughly six weeks to help round out the edges.

Fruitcake Old Baba Yaga – 11.0% ABV

Named for the witch who guarded the fountain of life and death in Russian folklore, the black depths of this Russian Imperial Stout hold coffee, licorice, and bittersweet chocolate flavors.

Tartare with Housemade Winter Cordial – 4.0% ABV

One of the world’s classic sour beer styles, Tartare is Bear Republic’s interpretation of Berliner Weisse, the tart, low-alcohol beer style dubbed as ‘The Champagne of the North.’ Served with a house made cordial made with cranberry, Orange, nutmeg, cinnamon & cloves.

Booster Rocket – 13.0%

A double version of our Red Rocket Ale aged in Four Roses Bourbon barrels for 8 months. Bourbon nose, toffee, chocolate malt flavors, rich and warming.
